Aparment Old-Gailingen - At home in a historic resort
Old-Gailingen lays in a lovingly restored home with a rich history dating right back to 1875. Originally a half-timbered farmhouse, this property has been brought back to life beam by beam by its dedicated owners, resulting in a cosy, romatic vacation home available now for rentals.
Through the entrance door you directly enter the bright living room with fireplace. On the lowboard opposite a spacious couch there is room for a satellite TV and a stereo system. The stereo receives digital radio from Germany and Switzerland and can play your favourite music via Bluetooth.
One bedroom is equipped with a large double bed and the second with two single beds. Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen and a daylight bathroom with walk-in shower and washing machine complete the offer.
When furnishing the holiday flat in country house style, special emphasis was placed on naturalness and sustainability as well as suitability for allergic persons.

Destination
Gailingen, with its approx. 3,000 inhabitants, is one of the southernmost municipalities in Germany, right between the Swiss tourist centre of Stein am Rhein and the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen. An idyll on the edge of the picturesque Hegau, directly on the Rhine, surrounded by forests and vineyards, the over 1,000-year-old holiday resort offers a good starting point for numerous indoor and outdoor activities. Many restaurants in the town centre and our winegrowers provide for your well-being.
Our freely accessible Rhine park with large sunbathing lawn, beach volleyball court and children's area can be reached in two minutes by car or in 18 minutes on foot.
Climate and beach holiday
You can enjoy your bathing holiday with us. Due to the immediate vicinity of Lake Constance, Gailingen has a very mild climate: in the summer months it becomes almost Mediterranean and even in winter it rarely gets really cold. This means that many Mediterranean plants, such as some kiwis, can grow in the open air. Some varieties even mature and sweeten on the plant.
The lake acts like an energy reservoir: in summer it stores heat and thus cools the air somewhat; in late autumn and winter Lake Constance and the Rhine release the heat back to the air. That's why there are only a few frosty days.
And when it snows, we don't miss the opportunity to bathe "in the snow".

After regularly swimming in the Rhine and hiking in the Hegau ourselves, we fell in love with this beautiful area and moved into the house in 2019. We live above the holiday flat and we are always happy to help you.
Testimonials from previous visitors (free translation from German)
Alexander's holiday home is spacious and perfectly equipped. The historically restored flat has a lot of charm, is cosy and quiet. There is a lot of useful information about Gailingen and the surrounding area for visitors and you can make great trips, e.g. to the Rhine Falls by train on the Swiss side. From the flat you can easily reach all shopping facilities on foot. It is also not far to the Rhine and right behind the house you can quickly go for a walk in the forest. If something is missing or needed, Alexander is always available and takes care of it immediately. He is a very friendly and attentive host. The stay was just great.
Definitely recommended! The flat is very clean and tidy, well equipped and centrally located in the village. There are some shops and restaurants nearby, for walks or other things Alexander is happy to provide information in a timely manner.
